That's not to say the menu offerings are lacking in taste. A smooth blend of southern New Jersey and southern Italian dishes, the menu contains all your favorites prepared home-style, the way your grandma used to make it.
That is, if your grandma happens to be from Carini, Sicily, in Italy and passed the recipes along to Domenico "Mimmo" Randazzo more than 35 years ago, when he opened his first Italian eatery.
Mimmo brings his grandmother's recipes and more than 35 years of experience serving Italian food in southern New Jersey. Robin Randazzo shows off her interior decorating talents and Citakovic has plenty of savvy about the hospitality industry. Together, they create a close, welcoming family, says Chef Tony, who adds his experience with other genres of food to the mix and helped to expand the menu.
"One thing I can tell you about eating here, you'll never go home hungry," he says of the large portions. "And I only use the best, very fresh seafood - top shelf."
When it comes to the Italian food, simple and homemade are words to live by at Mimmo's.
